Students of the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD) have once again achieved a proud achievement through an international scientific event on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. on line. The student team consisting of R. Moch Satrio Siliwangi Syarifatulmuna Negara (PSPD 2023) together with Aridin Gustaf and Mochammad Dzaky Addhimi (medical profession) successfully won the award Best Presentation in activities International Symposium "URGENCY 2026: Infectious and Metabolic Disease in Global Health"“ organized by the Faculty of Medicine, UPN Veteran East Java.

The scientific competition brought together students, researchers, and academics from various institutions to present research findings related to infectious and metabolic diseases, which pose global health challenges. At the international forum, the team captured the jury's attention with their scientific paper, entitled “"Is the Triglyceride Glucose Index (TGI) Superior to Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) for Predicting Sepsis in Patients with Diabetic Foot Ulcer? A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Novel Biomarkers in Metabolic Disease."”
The study discusses the effectiveness of biomarkers Triglyceride Glucose Index (TGI) and Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) in predicting the risk of sepsis in patients Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU). This topic is considered highly relevant considering that diabetes mellitus remains a disease with serious complications that can threaten patient safety if not treated early. Through the method systematic review And meta-analysis, Research shows that TGI has higher sensitivity and specificity than NLR in detecting sepsis risk in DFU patients. These results are expected to contribute scientifically to the development of early detection of diabetes complications, particularly in healthcare.

The team's success lay not only in the quality of its research but also in its presentation skills, which were deemed communicative, systematic, and visually appealing. The use of informative scientific poster design and interactive presentation of the material were invaluable to the panel of judges, ultimately earning the team the award for best presentation.
In a brief interview, R. Moch Satrio Siliwangi Syarifatulmuna Negara expressed his gratitude and pride for this achievement. "Alhamdulillah, this is certainly by Allah's permission. The entire process of creating a scientific paper requires a great deal of energy and thought. Once the work is complete, we also have to consider how to disseminate the research results to the public through a good presentation. The use of visual media is also a priority to make the presentation more attractive and provide added value to the panel of judges. It certainly feels very pleasant and proud to finally be able to contribute to the advancement of the faculty, in addition to...upgrade yourself to be better," he said.
He also encouraged other students to not hesitate to explore various academic and non-academic opportunities. "I advise you to never be afraid to try. Recognize your potential and take advantage of every opportunity presented to you. If you fail, keep trying, because you never know which door will lead you to another door of success," he added.
This achievement demonstrates that PSPD students are capable of competing internationally through innovative scientific work that impacts the world of health. It is hoped that this achievement will inspire other students to continue their active participation in research, scientific competitions, and personal development to bring honor to the institution on both the national and international levels.
