Batu — BASMALA (Believe and Serenity for Medical Academic Life) is a program created as a form of empathy and shared concern within the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD). This program provides a forum for students and the academic community to strengthen each other through communal prayer in facing various situations, whether challenges, hopes, or other significant events.

On this occasion, BASMALA was held as a form of respect and collective prayer for the passing of Ibra Setiawan, one of the PSPD students from the class of 2024, who died in an accident. As a show of solidarity and a sense of shared loss, tahlil (remembrance of God) and communal prayers were held for seven consecutive days following his passing.

This event was held online via the Zoom Meeting platform and was attended by students from various PSPD classes, lecturers, and other members of the academic community. Despite the online format, the event remained solemn and filled with a sense of togetherness. All participants prayed together for the deceased to be placed in the best place by Allah SWT and for the bereaved family to be given strength and fortitude.

Through BASMALA, it is hoped that the values of family, caring, and solidarity within the PSPD community will be maintained. This program serves as a reminder that, amidst the busyness of academics, emotional and spiritual support from others remains crucial in building a warm and mutually reinforcing environment.
