The Medical Education Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang has graduated its first medical degree. After completing the undergraduate program, students at the UIN Malang Faculty of Medicine will undergo two years of professional medical education. These young doctors will serve as clerks at the teaching hospital, Karsa Husada General Hospital, Batu City.
The first batch of young doctors from the Medical Profession Study Program, FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang has been officially received by Karsa Husada Hospital, Batu City in the Young Doctor Handover event. Present at the event were representatives of the Director of Karsa Husada Hospital, Batu City, dr. Ferdinandus Stevanus Kakiay, Sp.PD and the Chair of the Education Coordination Committee (KOMKORDIK) dr. Bambang Tri Sardana, Sp. B. Meanwhile, representatives from FKIK UIN Malang were the Dean Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati Prabowowati Wadjib, M.Kes, Sp, Rad (K), Deputy Dean 1 for Academic Affairs Dr. Roihatul Muti'ah, S.Farm. M.Kes, Apt, Head of the Medical Profession Study Program dr. Malik Setiawan, M. Infect. Dis and Secretary of the Medical Profession Program dr. Iwal Reza Ahdi, Sp.PD. The event was held in the Meeting Room on the 3rd Floor of the Outpatient Building of Karsa Husada Hospital, Batu City (26/10/2020).
The handover of young doctors represents a shared responsibility for professional students. Previously the responsibility of the faculty alone, it will now be under the supervision of the faculty and the relevant hospital. In addition to the handover, the young doctors are also briefed on mandatory materials for clinical clerkship students, such as quality assurance in hospitals, patient safety, the learning process, and evaluation of learning in teaching hospitals. This serves as an initial orientation for professional medical students to ensure they can conduct clinical studies in hospitals effectively and smoothly.
