Batu — The Medical Education Student Association (HMPPD) and the Al-Fath Islamic Discussion Forum (FDI) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Malang successfully held the 2026 Islamic Studies event as part of their collaborative work program. The event featured interactive focus group discussions (FGDs) with small groups, enabling a more in-depth and participatory exchange of ideas among participants.
With the overarching theme "GEMA: Gender Equity in Marriage Academy," the 2026 Islamic Studies program focuses on gender equality in domestic life, particularly from the perspective of the younger generation. This theme was chosen in response to evolving social dynamics, where understanding fair and healthy relationships in marriage is becoming increasingly relevant for early learning.

The event was also attended by several prominent guests, including the HMPPD advisors, FDI advisors, the HMPPD Chairperson, the FDI Chairperson, the Chairperson of the Student Executive Council (DEMA), and representatives of the Student Senate (SEMA) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Malang. The presence of these stakeholders demonstrated their full support for this event, which is rich in educational and Islamic values.
Participants in the 2026 Islamic Studies program came from various backgrounds, including members of the Islamic Discussion Forum (FDI), students in the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD), students in the Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program (PSSF), and the general public. This openness was a key element of the program, as it enabled it to reach a wider audience and foster inclusivity in Islamic discussions.

As the main speaker, Dr. Elok Halimatus Sa'diyah, M.Si., a lecturer in Psychology at UIN Malang, presented material entitled "Gender Equality in Building a Happy Household: Premarital Classes for Gen-Z Towards Fair and Growing Relationships." In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of building relationships based on healthy communication, mutual respect for roles, and equal understanding between partners as the main foundation in creating a harmonious family.
Through this activity, it is hoped that participants will not only gain new insights into the concept of gender equality from an Islamic perspective, but also be able to implement it in their daily lives, particularly in preparing for future married life. The 2026 Islamic Studies program is clear evidence that Islamic discussions can be presented in a relevant, contextual manner, and closely aligned with the needs of today's young generation.
