Another new faculty at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, long touted as a flagship faculty, is the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK). The decree was handed over in March by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education in Jakarta.
Starting its first year, the Medical Study Program, which is currently under the Faculty of Science and Technology, will accept 50 prospective new students. The Head of the Bureau of Academic and Student Administration, Drs. HA Heru Achadi Hari, M.Si, emphasized that in this first year, UIN Maliki will select prospective young doctors through the 2016 SBMPTN selection process. "We hope that the acceptance of new students in the Medical Study Program through SBMPTN will be able to select the best potential doctors," he said.
"So, I apologize," he said, "specifically for the Medical Study Program at UIN Malang, there are no independent or other pathways. This is the first year, and the quota from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education is limited to 50. "That's the rule for the Medical Study Program in its first year," he emphasized.
Specifically, the Medical and Pharmacy study programs are planned to be moved this year to Campus II, which houses the postgraduate program. Furthermore, both departments will be integrated into one building, the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy. (aj)
