Friday (24/06), FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a press conference regarding the Grand Thanksgiving event at the Lobby of the Medical Education Building, Campus 3 UIN Malang. The press conference, which was attended by the Dean of FKIK UIN Malang, the Head of the Medical Education Study Program, the Head of the Medical Profession Study Program, and representatives of the Student Parents Association (IOM), was held with the aim of publicizing the achievements and strategic plans of FKIK UIN Malang in the future regarding the results of reaccreditation and the 6th Anniversary of Maulidiyah.

In his initial statement, Dr. Tias Pramesti Griana, M. Biomed was very grateful for the achievement of the accreditation results that had been prepared for a long time, "For Medical Education, the result was "Very Good", while for the Medical Profession, the result was "Good". Of course, more struggles are needed in the future to obtain higher results. In the midst of the discussion regarding the reaccreditation results, he also wished FKIK a happy 6th anniversary. "Even though it is still relatively young, the struggles that have been gone through are not in vain. The academic community continues to be committed to providing the best results so that students can later be useful in society," said Dr. Tias.

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Salik, M.Ag., the IOM representative, expressed his gratitude for the relentless effort. He admitted to being initially concerned about the accreditation results, given FKIK's young age. However, the FKIK Accreditation Team's success proved to be fruitful.

As the Head of the Accreditation Team, Dr. Tias revealed that planning And roadmap Reaccreditation has been planned since the release of the first accreditation results (in 2019). In early March 2020, an accreditation team was formed to review and evaluate the assessment criteria forms. Subsequently, gradual improvements were made to the curriculum, infrastructure, human resources (HR), and student quality, ultimately resulting in improved accreditation results this year.

Dr. Tias also touched on the student admission quota, which will increase in line with improved accreditation results. However, the timing is still pending university policy. In this regard, the Medical Education Study Program has made plans and preparations to maintain educational quality. The medical education system is aligned with the number of infrastructure and human resources. This includes the implementation of tutorials and the use of mannequins (medical practice demonstration tools), which are guided by one tutor for a maximum of 10 students.

The Accreditation Team's immediate strategic plan includes assisting with the reaccreditation process for the Medical Profession Study Program in 2024 to achieve a higher accreditation result. It has not yet been decided whether the reaccreditation process for the Medical Profession Study Program will be carried out sooner. However, given the urgency of the program's students, it is possible that this could be done sooner.

Prof. Salik explained that the IOM is ready to support the reaccreditation process, within its capacity, in terms of facilities (infrastructure) and fundraising for faculties and study programs. The ultimate goal of this full support is to enable the children of FKIK students' guardians to compete with other graduates, one of the requirements of which is through this accreditation process.
