Balqis Faizah Azzahra, a student at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UIN Malang, won the Best National Coordinator Award from BAPIN-ISMKI for 2023/2024.

Balqis Faizah Azzahra, a student from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at UIN Malang, received the Best National Coordinator award for Period I of BAPIN-ISMKI 2023/2024. This outstanding achievement was achieved through her participation in the 2023 National Scientific Meeting (TEMILNAS).

Balqis Faizah Azzahra, a 2020 Medical Student, won this prestigious award in a competition involving students from health groups and scientific institutions from across Indonesia, organized by the Leadership Representative Body (BAPIN) of the Indonesian Medical Student Senate Association (ISMKI).

In an interview, Balqis explained her motivation for participating in the event, "This event is a competition for health students and a meeting of scientific institutions throughout Indonesia organized by BAPIN-ISMKI. As an administrator, I was present at this event to present the Mid-Year Report.", project share, "And the election of the elected chairperson. This event is held every six months, so it's a special opportunity to meet friends from other universities in person," said Balqis.

The 2023 TEMILNAS event aims to foster a spirit of achievement in scientific fields, particularly research, among medical students throughout Indonesia. However, as Balqis revealed, several obstacles were encountered during the BAPIN-ISMKI organizational process, particularly related to time differences, as members from eastern regions had to consider various aspects when conducting meetings and other projects.

A key milestone in this event involved Balqis' appointment as National Coordinator at the International Medical Scientific Summit (IMSS) in Aceh in February. She then served on the board of BAPIN-ISMKI until August, which counts as half a year for the award.

After completing the event, Balqis felt a lasting positive impact. She will continue her mandate as National Coordinator of the Palapa Division for another six months. However, this award has given her even more motivation to complete unfinished projects and proudly represent her alma mater, UIN Malang, nationally.

To manage time between studying and being active in the BAPIN-ISMKI organization, Balqis explained, "I usually make to-do list "My schedule will be more organized and I can complete each assignment well, both coursework and organizational tasks. My top priority remains my studies."”

Balqis also highlighted the significant benefits she gained from participating in the BAPIN-ISMKI organization, including expanding her network with medical students from various institutions and learning to understand the diverse personalities of staff from different universities. She said the experience also helped her improve her communication and leadership skills.

In her final message to FKIK students, Balqis Faizah Azzahra said, "After joining an external organization, I feel that there are many FK students outside who are superior and have achieved more, which triggers a sense of competition both in organizations and academics because BAPIN ISMKI also focuses on scholarship. In addition, let's continue to take part in external activities or organizations because that's how other universities can get to know UIN through the representation we do."“

Balqis Faizah Azzahra's achievements are a role model for FKIK UIN Malang students and an inspiration to continue achieving at the national level. Hopefully, her success will motivate other students to follow in her footsteps and contribute to the world of medicine and health sciences.
