HMPPD UIN Malang Successfully Hosts the Semifinals and Finals of CARDION 2024

February 11, 2024. The excitement of CARDION 2024 successfully attracted 922 participants. CARDION 2024 is a routine international competition targeting high school students and equivalent. Since 2016, HMPPD UIN Malang has successfully organized the competition, and this year CARDION held two competition branches: the basic medical olympiad and public poster with the theme of the Sensory System.

On January 28, 2024, precisely on Sunday, the participants passed the preliminary round followed by a total of 738 Olympic participants and 174 public poster participants. The teams were in various rayons consisting of Jember, Jombang, Malang, Madura, Surabaya, Kediri and Online.

Located at Campus 2 UIN Malang located on Jalan Raya Ir. Soekarno, Batu City, on Sunday morning, February 11, 2024, a series of Cardion 2024 Semifinals were held, attended by 25 Olympiad Semifinalist teams and 5 Public Poster Finalist teams, attended by the Head of the Medical Education Study Program, Dr. Tias Pramesti Griana, M.Biomed, Secretary of the Study Program, Mr. Yossi Indra Kusuma, S.Ked., M.Med.Ed., Mr. Saiful Hikmah, S.Ag and Representatives of the 22nd Class of Parents and Students Association.

The event began with an opening by the MC from the PSPD class of 2023. and continued with a dance performance performed by the LSO FKIK UIN Malang, remarks by the Secretary of the Medical Education Study Program, then the reading of the holy verses of the Qur'an and the reading of the minutes by Rafi Ramdanul H. PSPD 21 students as the chairman of the Committee and the Semifinal and Final Cardion 2024 events were officially opened by striking the Gong by Mr. Yossi Indra Kusuma, S.Ked., M.Med.Ed., and his staff.

The semifinals were held as a 90-minute rally point in the outdoor courtyard of Campus 2 UIN Malang. The final was a public poster presentation before a panel of judges comprised of lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine and Medicine (FKIK) UIN Malang and doctors who graduated from UIN Malang's Medical School. The Cardion semifinalists also received a briefing from the Head of the Medical Education Study Program, Dr. Tias Pramesti Griana, M.Biomed.

After the semifinals, the five teams with the highest scores advanced to the finals, where presentations and quizzes were held to determine the winner. "This Cardion competition was very exciting, tense, and taught us about medical topics. Our team didn't have much preparation, but we had the gut feeling to win, and thank God, the results were satisfying," said the Trigeminus Team from SMAN 1 Blitar, the 1st Place Winner of the 2024 CARDION Olympiad.

Mr. Yossi hopes that Cardion will foster a spirit of competition, cooperation, and practice to improve skills. He hopes this competition will attract high school students to the Faculty of Medicine at UIN Malang.
