AIPKI Region V Deans' Forum: FKIK UIN Malang Encourages Collaboration and Innovation in Medical Education

Jember, April 11–12, 2025 – The Deans' Forum of the Association of Indonesian Medical Education Institutions (AIPKI) Region V officially opened at the Aston Jember Hotel & Conference Center. The forum was attended by 27 medical faculties from East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara. The University of Jember hosted the two-day, one-night event.

Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati Prabowowati Wadjib, M.Kes, Sp.Rad(K), Dean of FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and Chair of AIPKI Region V, revealed that this forum highlighted important issues such as the transformation of development institutions and efficiency of the medical education budget.

“"This forum is very relevant to the conditions of FKIK UIN Malang, especially in dealing with budget cuts without sacrificing student competency achievements," said Prof. Yuyun.

On this occasion, a delegation from FKIK UIN Malang was also present in person, namely Prof. Dr. dr. Yuyun Yueniwati Prabowowati Wadjib, M.Kes, Sp.Rad(K), dr. Abdul Malik Setiawan, M.Infect., Dis and dr. Christyaji Indradmojo, Sp.EM.

Not only strategic discussions, activities also include community service programs that involve students, as a form of implementing collaborative and social values.

Prof. Yuyun emphasized the importance of concrete steps resulting from the forum, including strengthening public access to education and healthcare services through internal FKIK policies. He also welcomed the opportunities for collaboration between medical faculties resulting from the forum, both in the form of academic activities and community service.

“"This is not just a routine meeting, but a commitment to transform the results of the discussions into concrete actions in each institution," he stressed.

In the future, FKIK UIN Malang hopes that the AIPKI Deans' Forum can continue to be a strategic space to strengthen the quality and cooperation of medical institutions in eastern Indonesia.
