Batu, UIN Malang – Sunday, October 12, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang again held a Health Promotion (PromKes) activity at the Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, Batu City. This activity aims to increase the awareness of students regarding the importance of clean and healthy living behavior. In addition, this activity focuses on the formation of health cadres in the Islamic boarding school environment which is combined with the Anniversary of HMPPD UIN Malang and the UIN Mengabdi Qaryah Thayyibah program by LP2M UIN Malang. It is hoped that this activity can create a healthier and more independent environment in maintaining cleanliness.
This activity was opened by Dr. Putri Aulawiya Rosyida Halim, M. Biomed as a lecturer who expressed appreciation for the implementation of health promotion activities at the Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School. She assessed that the implementation of the event had gone well and was combined with special health check-ups for students. In addition, the training of cadres accompanied by practice in the use of medical equipment was considered a step forward in empowering health in the Islamic boarding school environment. "Hopefully, there will be ongoing implementation so that the level of health at the boarding school will continue to improve," said Dr. Putri Aulawiya Rosyida Halim, M. Biomed.
This year's health promotion program has a more specific concept than previous years. While previously limited to general education on skin diseases and health checks, the program has now been expanded to include training for health cadres. During the training, Islamic boarding school administrators are trained to use various medical devices directly to better understand practical practices in the field. This approach is considered more effective in developing competent and effective health cadres. Furthermore, this year's health promotion program also invited the Alumni Association (IKA) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Malang, represented by Dr. Ika Nurnaila Syakhsiyah.

Muhammad Fariz (PSPD 2024), the head of the event's organizing committee, explained that this year's health promotion initiative was motivated by the need to strengthen healthy living habits within the Islamic boarding school environment. The primary motivation for this initiative was the need for improvement in sanitation conditions and student consumption patterns. "We want to raise awareness from an early age so that students can adopt clean and healthy living behaviors in their daily lives," said Fariz, the head of the event. He believes this activity represents a tangible demonstration of student dedication to supporting health improvements within the Islamic boarding school environment.
The Islamic boarding school was chosen as the location for the activity because its Islamic-based approach aligns with the character of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Malang. The health unit at the boarding school is expected to improve the students' skills in maintaining their personal and environmental health. This year's health promotion program targets not only the students but also the boarding school administrators. This will foster more effective and mutually supportive collaboration within the boarding school.
Preparation for this activity was carried out with careful planning, starting from developing the theme and developing materials, to coordinating with the Islamic boarding school. Thanks to good communication and cooperation, the entire series of activities was carried out smoothly, even though the schedule was moved up. This activity is also scheduled to be evaluated two weeks after implementation through the program. maintenance to monitor the results and follow-up.

At the closing ceremony, Fariz, the chief executive, expressed his hope that next year's health promotion program would reach a wider audience. "We want this activity to involve more Islamic boarding schools, so that the trained health cadres can be more environmentally conscious," Fariz said. He believes that developing health cadres in Islamic boarding schools also addresses the shortage of health workers in the community. Through collaboration between students, lecturers, and Islamic boarding schools, Health Promotion is expected to continue to be a concrete step in fostering a culture of clean and healthy living among students.
