Praise be to God, the entire series of ISMKI Malang Region's Month of Service was successfully carried out with a spirit of dedication and collaboration. This event was the result of a collaboration between medical faculties in Greater Malang: UB, UM, Unisma, UIN Malang, and UMM.<\/p>\n

The 2025 ISMKI Malang Region Community Service Month highlights tuberculosis (TB), a contagious respiratory disease that remains a major challenge in its control. According to the 2023 WHO Global Tuberculosis Report, Indonesia ranks second in terms of TB cases after India. This disease can lead to a decline in health quality and a significant socioeconomic burden if left untreated. The key to TB management is early detection and adherence to anti-tuberculosis medication (OAT). Therefore, this year's Community Service Month carries the theme "Recognize TB, Treat It, Get Healthy Again."\u201c<\/p>\n

The 2025 ISMKI Malang Region Community Service Month consisted of three series of activities. The implementation of the activities began with approval from the Health Office, which was previously submitted by one of the universities through the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The first series, held on Monday, July 21, 2025, was packaged in the form of socialization and education about TB to the women cadres of Ngaglik Village, Batu. Participants were also invited to participate in demonstrations on cough etiquette, how to wash hands according to WHO standards, and simulations of germ transmission mechanisms. This inspiring material was delivered by Dr. Yuyun Kusnaningrum, Sp. MK as a lecturer from Brawijaya University.<\/p>\n

In the second series, held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, the Malang Region Month of Service (Bukti) program collaborated with the Malang Raya Branch of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) to commemorate Indonesian Doctors' Service Day. The series included registration, vital signs (TTV) and body mass index (BMI) checks, TB symptom screening, free mask distribution, health education, free medical treatment, and mass circumcision.<\/p>\n

In its third series, held from August 4-10, 2025, Bulan Bakti Malang Region held a digital campaign featuring an inspiring video interview titled "Faces of TB" and a quiz titled "Myths or Facts about TB," uploaded to the official Instagram page @bulanbakti_mlg. The campaign is expected to educate the public about the typical signs and symptoms of TB and raise awareness about the importance of TB prevention.<\/p>\n

Our deepest gratitude goes to all participants and committee members who contributed to the success of the 2025 ISMKI Malang Region Service Month. We hope the knowledge gained can be useful in developing a healthier lifestyle and being free from the threat of TB.\ud83e\udd32<\/p>\n
